♏Mercury enters Scorpio: Truths laid Bare♏

Mercury is entering Scorpio on September 27th and this is sure to change up our verbal and mental games a bit! Not only that, Mercury is going to retrograde in Scorpio and play a bit of back and forth between Scorpio and Libra into October and November before it moves into Sagittarius in December.

Its a time for any nagging feelings, untold truths, and things that haven't been said to come out...

What's the astro agenda for Mercury this Fall?

Sept 27th: Mercury enters 0 degrees Scorpio

Oct 13th: Mercury will retrograde at 11 degrees Scorpio

Oct 27th: Mercury will reenter final degrees of Libra (in retrograde)

Nov 3rd: Mercury goes direct at 25 degrees Libra

Nov 10th: Mercury will reenter Scorpio (now going direct)

Dec 1st: Mercury will leave Scorpio and enter Sagittarius

What does this mean in terms of energies?

Mercury can struggle with indecision and "over weighing out" different options in Libra. Most of this comes from the desire to be pleasing to multiple points of view, and the other person's point of view (often sacrificing our own needs in the process). Mercury moving into Scorpio will entirely shift this dynamic from people pleasing to IDGAF.

Because Scorpio is ruled by Pluto and Mars, those planetary rulerships have what I would call "cutting energy". They slice into a situation and go deep, as compared to Venus ruled Libra who wants to play, delight, and flirt more at surface level. This will be a big shift felt by Mercury from a more playful Venus to Pluto-Mars reality.

How will Mercury do in an extended stay here?

Mercury, unlike many other planets, doesn't necessarily have a polarity preference. Rather, it takes on the flavors of whoever it is with (it is the tofu of the zodiac! haha). Therefore, it shifts, ebbs, and changes based on who it is placed with. This is why planetary rulerships as I described above are so important to note.

As Merc progresses into Scorpio it will oppose Uranus providing sometimes sudden or jolting news bites (hello deepening pre-election dramas lol). Butttttttttt the good news is we will move slowly farther and farther away from all those messy Libra vs. Capricorn squares as I chatted about in my Mabon astrology post.

What can we expect with these astro shifts over the next couple months?

Mercury once it gets going in Scorpio will actually harmonize well with the Capricorn energies, particularly towards mid October (before it goes retro it will begin to sextile Jupiter) and then at the end of November where it will sextile nicely over to Saturn, Jupiter, and Pluto in Capricorn.

This type of Scorpio + Capricorn energy can make for a powerhouse of energy momentum, as one gives the depth and drive to get shizznit done, and the other the steady perseverance and eye to the long term plan. (Katy Perry actually has Cappy-Scorp energy in her chart..mixed with some zany Sagittarius of course!)

The period from October 27th to November 10th will see Mercury going back into Libra once in retrograde and then again once it goes direct. (Think of this as a number line where we go back to -5, stop, change direction, then need to cross back over to 0 again to get to +5.) This will be a trickier time as squares to Capricorn get reactivated by Mercury in late Libra over to late Capricorn. Peaceful relations may be harder to come by, and with the sun in Scorpio by that time we will have little patience for things that don't cut deeply to the truth.

Its sort of like a square dance between "I don't want to look" and "Tell me more" with Mercury and the Sun swapping partners periodically. We won't truly clear one energy from the other, so we will have to get used to this cocktail of some Scorpio, some Libra for mid Fall and the Mercury retrograde.

Once we get to mid November, however, Scorpio stays direct in Scorpio and its smooth sailing, picking up on nice sextiles to Capricorn all the way through the rest of that month.

What can we heal during this time?

♏This is THE time to shed any people pleasing fears. Say what needs to be said, or say what you have been afraid to say, feel, share or express.

♏Watch for epiphanies and surprise downloads as Mercury opposes Uranus in mid October and then again in mid November.

♏Embrace these Scorpionic energies to get to the bottom of things, and most especially don't fear the transformation it tries to stir up...embrace it!
